3 Helpful Tips on Planning a Wedding

Hi Guys and Welcome to my blog! I was recently asked by a reader to do a post on planning a wedding. When planning my wedding I received a plethora of advice and opinions as will you. Planning a wedding can be very stressful as when I look back over my experience there is so much that I wish I could do over. I have 3 tips that I believe will be helpful to you as you plan your wedding! (1) Pick your top 3 priorities: This advice was given to me by someone and it was very beneficial in my wedding planning. Pick the 3 things that you feel are the most important for your wedding (Ex. dress, cake, venue, pictures, music, etc.) and focus on these things. My top 3 were my dress, my cake and my pictures. Having this outline, I focused on these things being "perfect" and dedicated much of my budget to these things. Having your top 3 items of importance will help you in allocating your money. Once I had my dress, my photographer, and my cake maker I was relieved and able to foc...

Living a life of contentment

When my wonderful friend, Dianna asked me to contribute to her website with a blog on the topic of “Are you satisfied” I felt somewhat hesitant. How could I speak on being satisfied, when I myself had not mastered the art of satisfaction? Just recently, I found myself discouraged as I watched friends, family and colleagues continue surpassing me in regards to my “goals”. It is not uncommon to find yourself in situations that bring you to question your satisfaction in life and bring you to the thoughts of“if only”… “When I get married I will be truly happy,” or “When I finally get the job I want, then I will be content,” and the list goes on. It can be challenging to find contentment in a generation of people who are discontent. I want to start by saying satisfaction does not happen overnight; this is a daily decision. Jesus told us to take up our cross daily, that includes making a daily decision to be satisfied and content; for it is not God’s will that we be discontent. Matter of fa...

Preparing for Marriage

Hi Everyone! I know that it has been a few months since I posted a blog. Please forgive me! I am working on some projects that I will be able to announce very soon! I often get asked "How is married life" or "What I wish I had known prior to marriage". There most certainly isn't a manual on how to get it right, and I still have a loooooooooooooong way to go, however there are a few things that I have learned over the past few years that I thought I would share. I have been married 3.5 years now, and got married when I was 21 years old, so this ain't ya grammy's marriage advice LOL. This is millennial advice Ha! But I think it is still valuable. My husband and I have found a passion for helping young couples who desire to get married or are currently experiencing marital difficulties. We have attended several marriage conferences, surrounded ourselves with amazing marriages and we have also trained to facilitate conversation for marriages on the bri...
